Become a Patroller

The minimum requirement for being a patroller includes attending the annual training and completing First Aid and CPR training.

This year, training will be jointly conducted with the Tahoe Rim Trail Association and their Trail Ambassador program on June 8-9, 2013.  We will go over the patrol functions, responsibilities, equipment, communications and emergency management.

  • Saturday will be classroom at the Parasol Building in Incline Village.
  • Sundays class will be in the field at Spooner Lake and includes medical and other potential scenarios you may encounter while patrolling.
  • For those who don't have prior medical training, a eight hour class First Aid and CPR class will be offered at no charge on June 15th.  This certification is mandatory in order to patrol. Register for the class here.

Currently, we encourage two patrols per month during the riding season.  They are on your schedule and do not need to be at specific times.

Here is a copy of our patrollers manual.  It describes the program, how it's organized, volunteer rules/rights/privileges, and backcountry procedures.  If you're still interested in becoming a patroller, please sign up for the Patrol Training or fill out our Contact form and we will get in touch.  Thanks for you interest in the Bike Patrol and we look forward to hearing from you!
