Welcome! Thank you for visiting the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park Backcountry Patrol website and thank you for your support. We are currently in the process of changing the organization name to Tahoe Mountain Bike Patrol. You will see both names used interchangably throughout the site.
We are an IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association) affiliated organization consisting of dedicated volunteers who aim to help park visitors have the best recreational experience possible. Last year alone, we interacted with nearly 2400 park visitors, providing services such as trip recommendations, first aid, mechanical assistance (bikes), safety tips and park information on various topics. We carry extra food, water and park maps to further assist visitors.
We promote IMBA’s Rules of the Trail, participate in trail building and maintenance workdays, and work to promote multi-use trails. We have been patrolling the trails since 2001 and became a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in 2009. Your support is vital to our organization and equips patrollers with the supplies and training necessary to keep the trails and their users safe. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation, please click on the link in the sidebar. Also, check out our Become a Patroller page to learn how you can help give back to the trails you ride!
